From 15 October, Surat Thani will make COVID-19 screening easier for domestic travel to Ko Samui.

Domestic arrivals from the dark-red and red-zone provinces must show proof of vaccination or a COVID-19 test result that is negative. Surat Thani province has reduced entry screening for domestic arrivals from the dark-red and red zone provinces to Ko Samui, effective October 15, 2021, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

 

Travellers from the two zones must produce proof of vaccination or a COVID-19 test result that is negative. Vaccinated travelers must show evidence of vaccination with two doses of the Sinovac, Sinopharm, or Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine at least seven days prior to arrival, or one dose of the AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine 21 days prior to arrival.

 

Travellers who have been cured of COVID-19 for less than 90 days must show proof of health from a certified medical facility. Arrivals may also show a negative COVID-19 test by RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test within 7 days of the test date. Children under the age of 6 years old or children aged 7 to 12 who are traveling with their parents or guardians are exempt from the following requirements.

 

All domestic arrivals are required to follow the COVID-19 prevention guidelines issued by Surat Thani province. International tourists under the Samui Plus Sandbox programme, Fully vaccinated international visitors under the Samui Plus Sandbox programme can still enter and exit Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, and Ko Tao per the existing rules and regulations.
